Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
I have to honest, once I turned it on, I was completely blown away by the quality and supposed ease of setting it up. But I decided to wait a while before reviewing as my opinions might have changed. To a degree, they haven't.
This Sony TV is excellent from start to finish - the screen has excellent colour balance, having fantastic deep blacks and accurate skin tones; the sound is fantastic; and its usability is top-notch. The set-up screen was easy to follow, plus the channel list and installation process provided no headaches. Furthermore, the TV responds well with games (I have it hooked up to an Playstation and my mac book) and it handles even the most demanding graphics with ease. Even the remote is a joy to use.
There is a downside though. I found the internet side a 'pain in the ass'. Several times I tried to log on to Play.com, only to fail. You are re-directed to a Sony start up screen, whereupon you are given an access code to for you to type in on the Play.com area. I tried doing this repeatedly, only to be re-issued with more access codes! After a couple of days, I gave up and asked a couple of friends to help me out. My fear was that I was being a total numb skull and the whole process would be simple, even for a 2 year old. Alas no! My friends encountered the same problem, so I never got to enjoy all the TV had to offer. Being the impatient race that we are, I also found the remote control not particularly quick as a navigation tool for the internet. To be honest, that's just personal preference though. I am used to typing in a web address fairly quickly, so I found the whole process via remote control, tedious and slow.
The Sony Bravia is definitely worth the money, if only for the screen quality and adaptability for gaming and computer use. I would personally give it 3.5 out of 5

I rated this product 5 star becaluse of the nature and brandThe television has so far lived up to the reputation
The only thing that I dislike (Which has nothing to do with the quality of the purchase) is the fact that the samart TV only have BBC Iplayer and not the other channels
Otherwise I am very pleased with it.

Fulfilled all our needs. Moving through the internet options with the hand control is a bit tiresome though if you need this option. 5.0 out of 5 stars Sony TV, 6 Jan 2013

Good Televsion but AWFUL sound.Anyone who has purchased this tv can use external speakers such as the Logitech Z120, using the usb power and stereo out jack, as I have.
If the tv sounded ok without the need for speakers I would have rated 5 stars.

This TV has many good features and, in the main, is easy to set up and operate (although it takes time to learn all the features - I haven't yet). The display is excellent and the colour is very much improved compared with earlier Bravia attempts which I assume is due to the move to LED backlighting.BUT the sound from the TV speakers is trully appalling - so harsh and tinny that I am at a loss as to how the designers could possibly allow the thing to go into production. No doubt Sony assume that you'll be forced to buy one of their soundbars or cinema sound systems (I pressed an old HiFi amp and speakers into service, otherwise I would have been forced to send it back to the shop). Both the printed and on-screen manuals are very incomplete to the point of being cursory and the Sony website isn't any more informed either; not a lot of respect for the customer, I feel.

Nice looking TV great functions but this TV does have some rather annoying niggles. To many menus and sub menus, when you set up your favourites you would think there would be a one touch button on the remote to go to them. Not on this TV, it's quicker to punch in the channel number. picture quality is good but lacks depth compared to Panasonic and Samsung models I've had, my sons Philips in his bedroom has a clearer definition. Response time is good, though the annoying EPG at the top, sorry that covers half the screen for a couple of seconds makes no sense. Panasonic use a small box across the bottom of the screen. The online built in WIFI is at least simple to setup and has plenty of features that on this size screen will never be used. The spec of this TV is by far the most over hyped I've ever seen, sure it does all it says but takes a degree in menu surfing to get there. My son and I tested it against his Philips how quick could we get to YOUTUBE video? 6 seconds for the Philips, 21 seconds for the Sony, which by todays standards is an age. That's not to play the video that was just getting through the menus to the video. In all nice TV does what it says on the tin but really let down by over complicated software, not for the faint hearted or less technically aware, also the auto picture sizing gets confused at times and you have to go in and reset it. For the price I paid I'm fairly happy but at the RRP I would walk on by and but some thing else. Another point I would like to make is I brought this as it was the only 22" TV that would fit in my kitchen space height wise as it sits much lower on it's stand. I have owned this TV for a week now and found it to be much better than expected. The TV is physically smaller than the Sony 19" TV it is replacing. Both the picture and sound quality are very good for this class of TV.
I was very keen to attach the TV to my house network to play video off my Synology NAS. As is often the case with TV's the number of codecs installed is limited, but the TV plays MP4's generated from Handbrake really nicely. Both Lovefilm and iPlayer work well(8M download rate from my ISP). The Record and Pause TV function works nicely too. And to top it all the smart controller for phones/tablets works well.
The only criticism is that the TV is a little slow to operate.

All good, nice looking slim TV.But the first thing I noticed when opening the box was that the remote was disappointingly black?
I kinda thought like a previous Samsung purchase that it would be white, per the TV?
Checked with Sony, black is the supplied colour with white TVs.
Also, the remote seems an afterthought, a bit cheap quality'wise, not seemingly matching the quality of the TV which is otherwise great.
Food for thought for Sony manufacturing which is perhaps a bit lazy in this regard.

Very good quality TV with excellent picture. Sound quality not great, as noted by other reviewers but par for the course for small thin TVs. We use ours to drive a separate sound system. Internet functions work OK, if a bit slow and clunky. Overall a very good, if not cheap, buy. What Other Items Do Customers Buy After Viewing This Item?
