Nothing else to say - its slick, screen quality is brill, sound is epic! One problem - it was bloody difficult to find the right HDMI cable (it needs to be available to purchase at the same time as the charger is!).

i am the happy owner of this wonderful electronic book which for someone with failing eyesight and who doesn't wish to sit in bright electric light at night so i can read a paperback can now get back down to some enjoyable reading.

I was very lucky to receive this for xmas and have just finished my third book - the last one being The Life of Pi, thoroughly recommended and looking forward to seeing the film.

I do however, have to make one criticism and that is the on/off button. It is so difficult to locate and it is a bit like being blind and having to grope across the top to find it feeling delighted when you do.

It may be neat in design but feel that I will not be only person who owns the Kindle Fire HD and would like to see an improvement in this area.

recommend this to everyone! 30x better than any iPad and so perfect for everything! I am smitten with it and use it every day without fail! books, emails, social media, games, photos, music, work documents, movies - some things I use my Kindle Fire HD for!! soooooo worth the little money paid for it, I recommend buying a sub adapter plug as it charges quicker than pc :)

I bought the kindle fire HD (32 GB)a few days ago and so far I am very happy with it. The Kindle was delivered through the letter box (which was a pleasant surprise as I was looking at a long trek to the post office to collect it after work)and came fully charged and ready to use straight out of the box.
I was initially concerned as I had not bought the mains adapter/charger that is sold separately, but found that my old phone charger (for an LG phone) worked just as well.
Downloaded books are good, with a choice of reading options/type face/page colour etc, though I have yet to download any reference type books with diagrams and pictures so I cannot comment on those.
A WORD OF WARNING...before you download any games and apps; please read the user comments and reviews before buying, some games and apps are not worth the money.
If you are happy with just watching films, playing the odd game, reading books and the odd surfing of the web, this is for you. If you want to use it for work/business, I would probably opt for something else. Otherwise...enjoy it!

The main problem with my Kindle Fire is that it was purchased from Amazon UK but , I live in France and all the apps and books are in French, I would like to purchase these Item from Amazon UK but I have been told that I cannot and can only get French apps and books.

Didn't know I wanted a Kindle Fire HD until it arrived courtesy of Santa Clause. Now, wonder how I ever lived without it!

I've installed Dolphin and Flash player initially to run 4OD, ITV player and the beta of an app called Catchup TV which provides live Free View channels. BBC Iplayer is available free from the Amazon app shop and works well. So TV is pretty well covered! There are a number of work arounds to download Google apps and information for all of this can be found on the Kindle discussion forums.

The pre-installed Silk browser seems perfectly adequate, certainly Dolphin appears no quicker and I've now set Silk as the default, only using Dolphin for anything requiring flash (not much). Guess it's probably personal taste and what you're used to using.

Overall the images on the screen are stunning and, as a newbie to e-books, I'm really impressed with the practicality, simplicity and quality of this format. Music from the speakers is reasonable or excellent with a set of headphones. Email was simple to set up - although must admit have not attempted to set up the work Exchange Server account.

The ability to download music, images and films (MP4 format) via USB from a PC to the Kindle Fire HD, which the PC "sees" as an external drive, is a great feature.

The only criticism that can be really levelled at the Kindle Fire HD is the inability to download movies to watch off-line - although suspect this is something that will be resolved in the future.

Overall I'm totally delighted with my gift and have also avoided the painstaking pre-purchase research - thank you Santa!

Absolutely love it. Easy to use, a small teething problem when trying to connect to Tiscali/TalkTalk email app, but it worked. Only slight downside being that it is still a little American, but it is great. Did not think I would like it for reading, and that I would prefer proper books, but in actual fact love it, and would say that I am reading more than normal with it. Quality of picture and sound to either music of iPlayer is very good. Can't fault it.

has not great retro- compatible with the apps in G.Play. Instead both have an android. but Amazon has anything closed for that.
and at the present do not have flash Plugins in a desktop webpagesview like
this portal.

The Kindle Hd Fire is good but charging it takes far too long. Wasn't happy on Christmas Day as it was a present for my son and didn't realise it would need charged for hours before he could use it. Only bad point about it.

with a usbanad dead keen on photography and any gismo it seemed the right Xmas present and so it has proved. Screen is fabulous. Operating system mainly OK apart from e mail problems to which Amazon never responded and work around by 'expert' was found
