It works fine for me. My Sony mount sits well on it which allows me to dismount it after each journey and not leave the gadget inviting thieves.

Excellent product. It really stays in place when cornering or braking, however hard. (yes I braked hard to test it). Recommend this product.

Just bought a new sat nav with smaller fixing mount. Long stretch to fix to car windcreen so this is so so much easier. Sits neatly on any dashboard and is weighted so it does not slide when turning or breaking. Tom Tom sits very easily on with good suction. Easily removed with no trace on dashboard. Just quite large to store when not in use- although can go in boot or under seat quite easily.
Also has Amazon logo on so friends can see where to get one too!

I had a dashboard mount in the old round padded style but when I purchased a new 5" screen satnav the padding was too high for the wide screen to fit across. This one is perfect, it sits on the top of the dashboard and only moves when I move it to a different position. The screen is not hampered by the bulky padding and can be twisted into the position needed for easy viewing.

Depends on your setup , but it slid like crazy on my dash -it is only usable if i put it in the crevice on the drivers left where the gauge bulge lessens the slippage.
would benefit from being heavier or having suction cups on the bottom

I bought this a week ago for my TomTom XL (as my 2 y.o. Garmin's usb connector has broken from too much use - 40,000 miles). So far I have used this AmazonBasics dashboard mount for about 20 hours driving in a 2013 Merc C class, a 2011 BMW 335i and a 2004 Subaru Forester. Works perfectly. I expected the original TomTom Easymount to be the weak point but so far it is still stuck on firmly. The dash mount itself remains rock solid on the dash within easy reach. Last night I was late for an appointment and drove my BMW sportingly. The mount did not budge an inch even in sudden sharp turns. I am very happy it is living up to the excellent performance of my Garmin dash mount.

The only slight downside is that the dash mount is a little awkward to carry with the TomTom attached than the Garmin combi as the TomTom Easymount is shorter than the Garmin swan-neck and the TomTom is also prone to popping out of the TomTom clip ring.

When ordering this mount I did'nt expect it to be as good as everyone said in the reviews online but when it arrived i was pleasently surprised to say the least. Is very well made and does the same job as the more expensive ones I'm sure.

Item was not good.
My GPS did not stick to it firmly enough for me to feel confident that it would not slide all over the place.
The dashmount needs a fairly flat dash to be permanently fixed to, so that rules out most modern dash boards and their curves.
Quality seemed ok.
Ultimately, I returned the product and am waiting for my refund from Amazon.
