Does exactly what it says on the tin...not as advanced as an ipad (of course) but at a FRACTION of the price it does enough to make it the better buy!

Kindle Fire HE 7 Review.
Excellent product easy to operate ,reading emails and browsing the net could not be simpler.The touch screen and portability of this device makes my lap top almost redundant.iPad performance at significantly lower price.Superb product and can not fault the performance.

very hard to get any books or movies as I am overseas and am not allowed to download in other countries.
I wish I could return this product.

Got this as a Christmas prezzie. Wonderful I love love love it. Now I can sit where its warm and look at what I want. I can also read my books on it as well.

I upgraded to the kindle Fire in december last. I really loved the kindle for the E books. I can do so much more with the Fire. It is easy to use and small enough to carry round. I have no regrets ata all.

The Kindle Fire HD is everything they say it is. I have considered the Apple Ipad, which don't get me wrong, is a great product, but for me didn't justify the price tag especially if you own a laptop.
I bought the basic Kindle in May and was a bit bored with the monochrome display, this it why I plumed for the Fire HD.
A great bit of kit, only drawback is Amazon push selling and Amazon orientated. Saying that, I love Amazon anyway so I don't have a problem.
If you love Amazon too, you'll love the Kindle Fire HD.

If you are thinking of buying a kindle fire HD in the UK I stongly suggest looking at other tablets. Below are my thoughts on the heavy e-reader/door stop.

1. No ability to download videos from amazon or love film to watch when device is not connected to the internet so it only allows for streaming videos
2. No flash support
3. Currently BBC iplayer is the only on-demand app and also does not have the ability to download content to watch offline (which the iphone app has). Others are supposed to be coming online but none in the store at the point of writing this.
4. After plugging in headphones or speakers and then removing them, the sound on the Kindle often stops working requiring either a restart of the mp3/video/app or a complete restart of the kindle
5. Getting your own DVD's onto a kindle is not as straight forward as you would think and requires purchasing software to rip your dvds to your computer before copying them across. Be aware that not all dvd rip software creates the file in the correct kindle mp4 format (i found pavtube worked after trying many others)
6. Having spent hours getting my dvd files and music files on the kindle I awoke this morning to find that the kindle had de-registered itself overnight and removed all my music and videos. It also lost all my WIFI passwords and I had to re-download all my kindle books.
7. If you leave WIFI connected whilst the device is not being used it drains your battery within hours rather than the supposed 11 hours.
8. Annoying adverts on homepage unless you pay to have them removed
9. Amazon can update and access your kindle device without any involvement/acceptance from you. Big brother is watching you.
10. There is only one camera and it is facing you so although it works for skype it makes taking photos nigh on impossible.

Hopefully things will improve but for now I would wait for version 2 or buy an ipad mini.

Wow- wife has had a kindle from the first day they came out, so time to upgrade, I'm now in mega good books, Buy this product and you will not be disappointed. I can go on for ages about this item - I'm not going to, it's brilliant - that's all, excellent if not better alternative to iPad mini.
