Fast delivery. Good product! Didn't take long to setup, only problem I had, it didn't work with my 'high quality' HDMI cable, but works extremely well with my cheaper HDMI cable :-) 1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid this item, 26 Mar 2013

Why have a series record function when all it wants to do is record even the repeats it will have no space after all the repeats, scrolling through the EPG is like watching paint dry its that slow, cannot edit the series recordings it just marches on and on, so its back to single recordings. What a load of rubbish its missed recordings, set for last night it failed but will happily record the weeks before next Thursday, also says flexible recordings, record 2 programs at same time, not on my recorder set to record 2 programs at 14.00 it say may miss start or end of a program, WHY when its got 2 tuners and states record 2 programs at same time, Panasonic don't want to know emailed them twice, looks like its going back 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful

We purchased one of these recorders for our Conservatory last year and we were so pleased with it when it came to replacing the TV and recorder box in the lounge we've gone for the same model. It seemed to make sense, I already new how to set it up and work the control. Not disappointed at all. I would thoroughly recommend this item. Can't say the same for the Amazon delivery this time though!! I've never had a problem with Amazon previously but accordingly to Amazon they dispatched one of these recorders to me, but it never arrived. I had to contact the Team on a couple of occasions until someone finally got the picture that I wasn't happy and that they had had my money but I was still missing my goods after 10 days.
Pity, I usually find Amazon so good. On this occasion Product 5* Amazon regretfully 1 *

I can't say that I did a huge amount of searching but this came up well in the reviews and seemed to do everything we want for a reasonable price. We decided to get rid of Sky as we never watched channels that aren't available on free view and this does everything the Sky box did and more.
TV reception is good especially with HD.
Recording two channels works well
I haven't tried playing a film from a disk or from my file server yet so can't comment on those.
Having iPlayer and Netflix is a real boon - we signed up to Netflix to watch House of Cards which was totally engrossing. My only criticism in this area is that you can't record whilst watching Netflix. Also it would be nice to be able to get 4oD and the ITV equivalent.
My final criticism which I was expecting from other reviews is that it can be a bit slow to switch between major functions. (eg Netflix back to TV).

I recently moved and couldn't use Freesat due to planning permission. This had been favourably reviewed and bought it for around £160. The HD picture quality is superior to what I got on TiVo with Virgin. Additionally the interface is not so busy and selecting a program from the TV Guide is highly intuitive, it even advises you if the program's available in HD which is a good touch. The file sharing is an added bonus at this price too. I have a dedicated media server as it is but this handles most AVI files and mp3. You can't use an NTFS formatted drive in the USB ports, so larger drives won't work. A slight inconvenience is that you can't stream or copy programs over your network or even to a USB stick due to copyright protection. Have considered increasing the capacity of the hard disk from 500 Gb to 2Tb as I have a spare drive but 500Gb is actually quite a lot of programming. I have about 90 hours free usually after deleting things I don't want to keep. All in all a great buy without glitches What Other Items Do Customers Buy After Viewing This Item?
