Product Overview

The Finlux 42F503 Full-HD 1080p LCD features a slimline design, glossy finish and integrated Freeview so you'll be able to save space by throwing away your digital set-top box. You'll even be able to pause, rewind and record live TV!

KEY FEATURES:

The built-in PVR function enables you to Pause, Rewind and Record TV directly onto any USB plug-and-play flash drive, or USB hard drive.

Just simply insert your USB device into the TV to record or playback your favourite movies, TV shows and photos.

An integrated Freeview tuner will allow you to watch all your favourite shows from over 80 TV and 20 radio stations across the country - without the need for an additional set-top box.

Bought for a gift for my daughter. Decent picture although nowhere near my own Panasonic Viera but then it was a 1/4 of the price too, so can't complain. Good remote with large buttons. My only complaint is there is no front switch to switch it off, therefore, we had to put the back plug on an extendable socket so my daughter could reach to swith it off otherwise it would have been on stand by all the time! I think this is a design fault with a few models of TVs these day - and not good when we are suppossed to conserve energy. A good buy though and looks slick.

First of all thanks to Amazon for 'inviting' this review. Not surprisingly this TV has mysteriously been withdrawn from sale by Amazon. Why ? because despite being advertised by both Amazon AND Finlux (on the box itself no less) as being Full HD it is certainly NOT Full HD it is only HD ready, something Finlux have now admitted to me. However I still await any response from Amazon or a solution from Finlux more than a week after registering my complaint.
I have always believed Amazon to be a reputable company who quickly dealt with any complaint. So why the delay in sorting this out Amazon ????

There are severak reviews for this tv and all seem favourable which is why I bought it. I agree with all the other reviews really good telly. After a few months the sound went on mine but this was due to automatic updating and all I had to do was to re programme ie delete all channels and reprogramme - not a problem when you know.

I am very dissapointed with Finlux never received my tv ordered well before xmas as it was supposed to be next day delivery still hasn't arrived been ringing them over the xmas period all lies saying it WAS COMING NEVER TURNED UP WAITING FOR MY MONEY BACK NOW hope that arrives soon they say it takes 3 - 5 days to get money back. NOT AT ALL HAPPY

I spent quite a bit of time over two weeks researching the market with a budget of about £400 and the reviews were a crucial part of this. At under £300 this TV is exceptional value. We have two scart connections to make to the TV, so the fact that this Finlux has these was essential for our purchase at this time. I had to check on the Finlux website though to be sure, as it wasn't on the Amazon details. The additional 4 HDMI and USB connections exceed most other TV inputs. Delivery was faster than anticipated and the set came pre-mounted on it's stand.

One criteria was for good sound, so I discounted LED as I know these are tinny and we are not connecting any external system to this TV. This telly has excellent sound. HD was a must and the picture quality is brilliant, just make sure you switch off the power saver. There were no pixel faults on our screen. Viewing from any angle is unhindered with reflections or glare etc. The gloss black edge is a little wide compared so some, but not ugly, especially on the 42" we bought and it needs the depth on the bottom edge for the speakers.

As we were buying an LCD we expected to be able to switch this set off, but discovered that it stays on standby (tiny power use), unless you put it onto an accessible socket and switch it off here. We have done this, but it's a stupid omission considering Finlux state in their instructions to switch it off at the mains and even unplug it when you go out / away! A simple on - off button would be a bonus.

One odd negative is that when you switch off a PVR connected to the TV when it is on, it makes an alarm sound. We now switch the TV off / mute the sound, when switching the PVR off. Can't understand why it does this, as our Sony Bravia never did.

I would not hesitate to recommend this TV to anyone looking for good quality at a low price. The more expensive sets are not necessarily better, unless you are getting into the +£1000 range, or particularly want an LED set. If you are considering a TV at up to £800 or so, this set will reward all your needs. Great buy, well done Finlux. Just install an off button on the next version!!

Great picture, good sound and pretty user friendly. The live tv pause function (with usb memory device, sold separately) is excellent. My only gripe would be that the record function wil only record the chanel you are watching.
That being said it's an excellent TV at a very good price.

Brilliant value for size of TV. Relatively easy to set up except for HDMI receipt but eventually succeeded with help of SKY.
