its a very good quality cable for the price. it has ethernet. the shielding is good but still doesn't match the higher premium cable. this cable at 1080p reduce my aerial signal quality by a half, with a cheap cheap cable it completely destroy my aerial signal. i have a qed and audioquest cable and it leaves my aerial signal untouch.
4 star, it wins on price and quality. but still not perfect.

Opening the (frustration free) packaging was a pleasant surprise.
This is a really well put together lead. It has a high quality woven outer layer, it is weighty, with good quality fittings, and really exudes quality. I have not of course subjected it to any laboratory analysis of its performance. But I plugged it in, and it worked. Remarkable at the price. And enough to tempt me to look first to the Amazon "basics" range if I need any other lead in future (really).

Item was received in the typical no-nonsense packaging which did make a change from vacuum plastic and a pair of scissors being required.
Cable transmitts a great picture.
Only issue is its quite stiff to be honest.
Overall very pleased for the money! Is it worse than a £100 cable or better then a 99p cable, well i just dont know!

I bought this 1m cable. It is very thick which gives it protection and is quite easy to bend around stuff. I would rate the product 5* but the delivery is rubbish. Royal Mail dont send a carrier like they use to and asked to sign a form, instead they post a red slip so you have to pick it up yourself. Not only that but there was a thin plastic sheet selatape. It covered the whole box a was not "Frustration Free!" as they quoted but annoying and hard to peel of. So basicly good product, bad packageing and delivery. :(

After some research, I got this to connect a Panasonic HD 3D TV (TXP50GT30) to a Panasonic 3D Blu-Ray player (DMPBDT310). My research seemed to indicate that shielding the signal lines was the difference between cheap and expensive cables and this was especially true for 3D viewing. At a tenner, if it didn't work I could use it for another connection right?

So to the cable;

- It's quite flexible which is good.
- It's quite heavy.
- Seems well made.
- It bends into quite tight curves (the HDMI sockets are on the side of the TV and I route the cable behind the TV and down centrally then back into a unit holding the Blu-Ray player)
- Didn't need a chain saw to get it out of the pack, marvellous!

I have now watched 2D and 3D Blu-rays. The picture is crisp and sharp in both modes. The 3D is the same as the demo in shops with £70 cables. I have no problems with the TV or anything else not working as suggested by another reviewer, all my devices, PVR (Topfield 5810), Blu-Ray and Virgin box(TiVo) are connected with Amazon Basics leads. The Blu-Ray with this lead and the others with the less expensive ones and no problems all round. SD pics from the PVR are good and HD from the cable box are stunning. No problems with sound. No problems with 3D flickering. No problems with 2D pictures. I still use an optical lead from the Blu-Ray to my amp for sound as the amp doesn't have an HDMI connection. No problems there either. Sound for the PVR and TiVo are carried on HDMI leads using the TV speakers. My cabling is now SIMPLES :)

I needed an HDMI cable to connect my new Panasonic PVR to my TV and after reading a number of good reviews settled on this one and duly connected it up. I found the Panasonic was unable to find and tune in to any multiplexed freeview channels apart from those on channel 28 and my TV lost all channels as well. Thinking that this was a problem with the new PVR, I phoned the Panasonic help line. The lady on the other end suggested I unplug the HDMI cable because if they were not sufficiently shielded they can cause interference with reception and tuning. It sounded rather dubious to me - after all, from what I had read, an HDMI cable is an HDMI cable, despite what they say in the high street stores where they try to sell you hugely expensive ones. Anyway, I did as the lady suggested and the TV channels became available again and the PVR promptly found and tuned in all freeview channels. Still dubious as the the HDMI being the cause, I reconnected it and tried to access the freeview channels. Both the TV and PVR announced that the there was no signal. I returned the cable and replaced it with a Panasonic one for a couple of pounds more. It arrived today and everything worked perfectly. It just goes to show - maybe not all HDMI cables are the same.

No problems with this cable. It's nice and sturdy and has been doing a great job connecting my blu-ray player to my TV. The thickness of the cable means it doesn't coil or fold all that easily, but I see this as good thing - meaning the cable always provides a good, noise-free connection.

It works in a predictable way, so I am delighted. Amazing value when compared with the high street prices. I'm using this between a Western Digital media player and a new Sony EX503 tv. Very fast delivery even with the Amazon free option.

There's a bit of a battle raging between the die hard flat earthers of hi-fi and the newer generation of the techno savvy. One group claims that nothing under 50 quid is worth a sniff and that the £300 they spent on their black viper NASA designed super cobalt plated cable has lifted their tellyvisual feasting to near nirvana status while the barbarians are claiming that it's all digital and whether you spend £1 or a thousand makes no difference.
Confused? Me too, so being nosey, I thought I'd give this basics a try and compare it with the £60 Monster cable lead I use. Could I spot a difference? Oh yes I could. Colours were slightly brighter, black deeper and everything just seemed 'fuller'. Point proven huh? Well.... I figured a blind test, (well not literally of course as that would be pointless now wouldn't it), where the cables were swapped and I didn't know which was which. Oh dear, erm, @*$*! Yup you've guessed it, I not only couldn't tell which was which but the picture looked exactly the flippin' same!
There are certain hi-fi mags out there proclaiming loudly that Amazon's 'cheapo' cables are not up to scratch and refusing to give anyone except their 'preferred' manufacturers a fair and unbiased review. Twaddle! This cable is as good as anything else out there. The 'expert' tests are the results of personal opinion and the psychological effect of hype, pricing and 'favoured brand' bias, (tell me my quarter pounder and cheese was £30 and made of hand fed Kobe beef and I'll tell you I can taste the difference, tell me it's £1.99 from you know where & It'll just taste like any other to me),. Snobbery and elitism have always been important to hi-fi geeks and they've transported that over to the whole AV arena. There's also the whole 'emperors new clothes' scenario too where they would be embarrassed to admit they couldn't see the difference.
Don't take my word for it, try a blind test, you'll be surprised by the results.
The one point in favour of spending a couple of quid more on this quad basics version than the other, cheaper, Amazon version is it is more rugged and likely to last longer.

Very pleased with this, much better than expected given price and basics label. A fraction of price from high street retailers yet looks and performs wonderfully on new TV - Would recommend without hesitation.
