Very pleased with this TV, looks good with a transparent edge surround and narrow frame, very smart on a new black glass table. Picture very good, Sound Good. If I have any gripes it is with the set up with SKY which I had to work out myself and the same with internet browsing, both could have been more intuitive, but still very satisfied and pleased that I spent a bit more to get a state of the art TV. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful

I bought this TV early last month (Jan 2013) and am delighted with it. The picture quality is superb once adjusted from the default factory settings -- more on that in a moment. The sound levels likewise are very good and in no need of enhancing with a soundbar or the like. The built in Freeview HD menu system is excellent and the Smart functions work very well too.The Smart functions include the usual (numerous) widgets -- which work fine -- and also a fully-fledged, if basic, web browser that allows full web surfing (not some cut-down experience of the web but the real thing, just as on a PC). As others have remarked, the web browser is hampered by a painfully slow method of entering search commands and web addresses, but this is easily fixed by buying a Logitech K400r bluetooth keyboard. This keyboard allows you to sit on the sofa and rapidly type searches or web addresses into the browser. It also incorporates a touchpad that moves the on-screen cursor with ease and accuracy. When fitting it, join together both parts of the USB dongle, insert the dongle into a USB port on the rear of the TV, switch on the keyboard and away you go. I realise it's an extra investment but I assure you it's well worth it.
As for picture quality, it is very impressive once adjusted away from the factory settings which were obviously done by a blind man. Another reviewer (Marcel) here on Amazon recommended the following settings and I am grateful to him as you will be too if you adopt them.
Press the Menu button and choose Picture Mode - Natural:
Picture Mode - Natural
* Backlight 20
* Contrast 75
* Brightness 45
* Sharpness 85
* Colour 30
* Tint (G/R) G45/R55
Screen Adjustment
Picture Size - Auto Wide
4:3 Screen Size - 4:3
Picture Options
Colour Tone - Standard
Digital Noise Filter - Auto
MPEG Noise Filter - Auto
Film Mode - Auto 1
Picture Mode - Standard (re DVDs)
For DVDs use Standard setting modified as follows to give better shadow detail as DVDs can be really punchy.
* Backlight 16
* Contrast 90
* Brightness 45
* Sharpness 55
* Colour 30
* Tint (G/R) G45/R55
These settings won't be ideal across all programmes on all channels on all occasions, but it will be a good start.
As for external inputs, I've connected the TV to my Sony BluRay DVD player and the two work flawlessly together.
I also recommend connecting the TV to the web via its ethernet port rather than using a Wi-Fi dongle as the former is more reliable. I use a couple of TP-Link Powerline adaptors. They carry data from the ethernet port on my Router over the house's power cables to the TV. Just plug one into a power socket adjacent to your router, join them with an ethernet cable and similarly plug another into a power socket near your TV and connect it to the TV via a second ethernet cable.
That's it. All that I need add now is to recommend that you update the firmware to the latest version (Menu/System/Setup) when first setting the TV up.

Easy set-up. Excellent picture. Tuner works well despite using an indoor aerial. Internet function works well. Recording feature requires a fast USB stick or HDD. I haven't been able to use any recordings on another device eg a computer or tablet but works fine via the TV itself. 1 of 3 people found the following review helpful

Although this tv seems great, i am experiencing picture issues with clouding of images. I have spoken to various retailers who have expressed this is not an uncommon issue, but can depend on cable/ariel feeds. I use Virgin+ box feed and have been advised to upgrade to tivo and see if the picture is enhanced. Wonder whether those that comment on this issue have the same cable provider? 5.0 out of 5 stars Good choice, 27 Jan 2013

Purchased as a bedroom TV it looks good when it's switched off as well as on. Just dropped a star at the moment because the the internet side keeps buffering and crashing every couple of minutes. Not sure if it's our broadband, the wireless dongle or what. Will have to review this again after BT Infinity arrives in a couple of weeks.Update 08/02/13. BT Infinity has arrived and everything seems fine. No buffering or crashing when watching internet TV. I can only assume that the Samsung requires a faster broadband speed compared with our living room TV which is a Sony.

Received this TV yesterday and am happy so far with it, picture quality and Samsung Hub are as I expected.Set up was straight forward, but
a) Software update was interrupted by an unexplained power off and I had to restart and do a manual software update.
b) Running the Samsung Hub for the first time immediately said it needed to do an update, and when it finished that it said it had to do another - but end result = lots of apps to choose from.
So as a product, yes I would recommend it, its a nice clean TV with excellent picture and sound even on the default settings.
What I was not happy with was the Delivery Time.
Ordered on 9-Jan (Wednesday) with 2 day delivery option.
Initial delivery estimate was for the following Saturday, but then changed to the Saturday to Monday after that.
Actual delivey was 21-Jan (Monday).
So 12 days delivery when I paid for a 2 day service.
What I think I have learnt is that the delivery promise is from despatch, and Amazon took a week and a half to pick and despatch - shocking!
I should add, each time I checked on my order I could see that Amazon had plenty in stock, and were displaying a next day express delivery option!!
Well that's my gripe out of the way.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good TV but SMART functionality is not yet smart enough, 22 Jan 2013

This TV has a great picture and sound, it's light and looks sleek. Set-up was easy - but the SMART functionality is overrated (by Samsung) -we find it boring.We already have a WD Live box (to play content on our PC network on the TV) and a Humax PVR so I was dubious that we'd use the the apps (for example, we could use BBC Player already). I did mull over paying extra for a few minutes but, sadly, the gadget-addiction centre in my reptile-brain overrode the higher rational bit.
The Smart Hub stuff seems to be a some bland extra content, simple games and photo sharing (if you can persuade other family members to buy one). Its also a portal for BBC Player and LoveFilm type services.
Now we've had the TV for a few weeks and played with it I can confirm that no one in the family uses the Smart part. With hindsight I'd rather I hadn't paid any extra for this.
If you are keen to have facebook on your TV AND other clunky apps AND you'd rather input with a tv remote than a keyboard AND you don't have a smartphone AND you don't have access to a laptop or a PC but you DO subscribe for an internet connection - then YIPPEE! this TV maybe ideal for you.
OK, so you can buy a keyboard and SamsungTV-only webcam at an inflated price -which would make things better and let you Skype but I think that there still needs to be more functionality to make a Smart Hub premium worthwhile.
