Can't fault this in the slightest. There's plenty of players out there that are twice the price, yet offer the same or less in the way of performance... The LG beats them all. This is just another edition to my ever expanding collection of LG tech... Highly recommended!

I bought this player primarily to play DVD'S and Blurays. But the clincher was being able to watch lovefilm....

To cut a very long story short love film is not available for this machine. Quote from lovefilm " Unfortunately, the service is not currently available via LG BP620 Smart Blu ray player. We will, of course, let you know when the situation changes."

Which begs the question how many of these 'reviews' on here are written by people who actually have this player? I feel very let down as i used the reviews on here to help me make purchase. Seems they should be read with a pinch of salt!

Oh yes BBCi player didnt work either, plays most video formats but MP4 was very choppy. Blu ray and DVD's seem ok.

Anyway getting my money back!

This is a great DVD Blu Ray Player. It up scales DVD's plays Blu Ray, 3d, does it all.
Also easy to use and has WiFi connection so you can watch You Tube Love Film Net Flix.

I had to return my sony player because I could"nt get Netfix o work so I got this inatead. It was easy to set up and all he premium apps Netflix, lovefilm all work . I would reccommend it to anyone really impressed.

I was not sure whether to spend on this player which did not list on What HiFi review. Other internet reviews are good. I've not used any of the 3D features yet as I don't have a supporting 3D TV but the picture quality of BR disks are excepetional. The sound out put is superb and come with some good (free) premium apps like BBC iPlayer and YouTube. Performing Searches on these is a little difficult but not overly frustrating. The remote is simple to use and very intuitive. Especially the "Audio" key which changes the channel settings is thoughtfully placed where its accessible easily, i.e. I don't have to run through a dozen options before I can get to the Audio setup.
It does take a while to connect to the wired network (not tried the WiFi yet) but the speed of rendering is good. Watching catchup tv is like watching actual tv. I would argue that the quality is slightly better than regular tv.
DVD upscaling feature is excellent. You have to be close to the TV to distinguish between the DVD and bluray picture quality. All my DVDs now display better than before.
Overall I'm very happy with this purchase. The GUI is very intuitive and the remote well laid out for simple human use. I would easily recommend this to anyone.

Excellent product at an excellent price. Wi-fi works well even though I'm a fair distance from my BT Broadband Home Hub. Excellent picture quality with streamimg Lovefilm and BlinkBox even with an older Toshiba TV ( better than a Smart Samsung TV used elsewhere in the house). Limited but fun range of apps. Blu-ray quality is very good, no real problems with disc loading times. Not used the 3D function so can't comment.
After looking at various products on-line & in-store I would thoroughly recommend this!

I bought this to replace an upscaling DVD player and a Sony network streamer as it offered the chance to play blu-Rays/DVDs and access online subscription services. The set-up was incredibly easy and after a software upgrade (which is shown on the enclosed instructions) I was away. OK I don't run a massive home cinema system and I am a casual watcher of TV/films but I am impressed with this

The quality is excellent and the set-up easy - essentially a great piece of kit for little money

Superb value for money. Very easy to set up and connect to Wi-Fi hub. Had a little problem with the Nero Media software but managed to get it running after several attempts and re-boots. Transfer of data from PC to TV via the player is smooth and the onboard menu makes it easy. Limited somewhat in apps but still great value!
